Synopsis

Before you watch

There’s No Place Like Home (Part 2) aired on May 29, 2008, as the first hour of a two-hour finale night. Jack Bender directed, and Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof wrote it.

Where things stand: the Oceanic Six are preparing to leave, and their cover story is in place. Locke has gone looking for instructions at a cabin in the jungle. Jack has had his emergency surgery, the freighter is still offshore, and the mercenaries have already shown how far they will go. Everyone on the Island is being pulled towards the same few hours.

The shape of it is clear from the start: this is the Season 4 finale, the Island is moved, and the Oceanic Six escape. The backstory is spread across eight people this time, including Ben and Desmond. It moves fast. Clear the evening, because Part 3 follows straight on and you will not want a break between them.
