Lost watch order
Watch Lost in broadcast order: six seasons and 121 episodes, starting with the two-part pilot. The story is serialized, and its flashbacks are built to land in the order they aired, so there is no chronological cut worth trying on a first watch. Skip nothing. Save the extras, like the Missing Pieces mobisodes and the bonus epilogue, for later. Last checked October 2026.
Broadcast order, season by season
- Season 1: 25 episodes
- Season 2: 24 episodes
- Season 3: 23 episodes
- Season 4: 14 episodes
- Season 5: 17 episodes
- Season 6: 18 episodes
Streaming services list the episodes in this order already, so press play on the first one and keep going. The pilot and a few later episodes come in two parts; watch both halves together.
Where the extras fit
- Missing Pieces, thirteen mobisodes, most of them two or three minutes long: after Season 3 and before Season 4, which is when they first came out. More in Beyond the episodes.
- The bonus epilogue on the complete-series discs: after the finale, never before.
- Recap specials that aired before some seasons: skip them on a first watch, since you will have just seen everything they cover.
Is there a chronological order?
Not one worth using the first time. Lost tells its story out of order on purpose, and each flashback is written to arrive at a particular moment. Rearranging them changes what you know and when, which is most of the fun.
