House of the Rising Sun
Synopsis
Before you watch
House of the Rising Sun aired on October 27, 2004. The title comes from the old folk song, with a nod to Sun, whose episode this is.
Where things stand: Jack has chased something into the jungle, water is running short, and the survivors are no longer sure the beach is the place to wait. Sun and Jin have kept apart from everyone since the crash.
Michael Zinberg directed his only Lost episode here, and Javier Grillo-Marxuach wrote the first of his six scripts. The off-Island scenes were shot all over Honolulu: the Byodo-In Temple, a replica of a 900-year-old temple in Uji, Japan, set against the Koʻolau cliffs, along with Oʻahu Cemetery, the Ala Wai Canal and Keʻeaumoku Street in Koreatown. Years later the official magazine paired this episode with ...In Translation in a photo feature, so keep it in mind when that one comes around.
