Synopsis

Before you watch

The 23rd Psalm aired on January 11, 2006, after a six-week holiday break. Matt Earl Beesley directed his only Lost episode as a guest director, and Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof wrote it.

Where things stand: Kate’s original crime has been revealed, and another part of the orientation film has turned up. The two groups of survivors are living together now, and the newcomers from the tail section are still strangers to most of the camp.

This is the first episode built around Eko. He confronts Charlie about the Virgin Mary statues, and there is a face-to-face with the Monster. The title is the psalm that begins with the Lord as a shepherd. Off-Island scenes were filmed on the North Shore, at the Old Waialua Sugar Mill, which ran until 1996, at Dillingham Airfield and at Keʻaliʻiokamalu Church in Haleʻiwa town. Beesley later talked to the official magazine about how he came to the show.
