Synopsis

Before you watch

The Other 48 Days aired on November 16, 2005. Eric Laneuville directed the first of his five Lost episodes, and Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse wrote it.

Where things stand: the tail section survivors have just merged with the main group, and the two camps are now face to face. Shannon has had her episode, and the people from the front of the plane are learning that they were never as alone on the Island as they thought.

This one breaks the show’s usual pattern. The story of the tail section survivors is told from the beginning, so instead of one person’s backstory, the hour goes back to the day of the crash and follows a different group forward. Five people share the focus, all from the back of the plane. Watch it as its own short film, and count the days in the title.
