Abandoned

Abandoned aired on November 9, 2005, after a three-week break. Adam Davidson directed his only Lost episode, and it is the first script by Elizabeth Sarnoff, who went on to write 19 episodes in all.

Where things stand: Sun has lost her wedding ring, and Jin has gone out with a search party. The tail section survivors are now part of the story, and the camp on the beach still has no idea how many other people walked away from the crash.

This is Shannon’s second episode, after Hearts and Minds, and the first that is hers alone. Her past is explored, and the tail section survivors merge with the main group. Shannon has spent most of the show being underestimated, by the camp and by viewers. This is the episode that asks you to look at her properly. Give it your full attention.
