Numbers
Synopsis
Before you watch
Numbers aired on March 2, 2005, the last new episode for four weeks. Dan Attias directed, and David Fury wrote it with Brent Fletcher, whose only Lost credit this is. It is Fury’s fourth and final script for the show.
Where things stand: someone sabotaged the raft, and Shannon has been helping translate a set of maps. Hurley has been the camp’s good humour so far, and nobody has asked much about who he was before.
This is Hurley’s first episode: he recognizes a sequence of numbers on Rousseau’s maps and cannot let it go. Off-Island, the crew used the Laniākea YWCA, a 1927 building by Julia Morgan across the street from ʻIolani Palace. One of Hurley’s lines here was first filmed for an earlier episode, cut, and saved for this one. Jorge Garcia talked about the episode at length in the official magazine.
