LA X (Part 2) is the second hour of the final season premiere, which aired on February 2, 2010. Jack Bender directed, and Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse wrote it.
Where things stand: the first hour set the shape of the season, with two realities that seem to exist side by side. The fifth season finale left everyone shaken, and the survivors on the Island are still taking stock of what happened at the end of it.
The setup is brief: the Temple is reached, and Sayid is given a second chance. The same eight people share the backstory as in Part 1, so this plays as one long episode cut in two rather than a fresh start. From here the season settles into a rhythm of one or two people at the centre each week, with the new second reality running alongside the Island story. Give yourself a moment before moving on.
