LaFleur
Synopsis
Before you watch
LaFleur aired on March 4, 2009. It was the directing debut of Mark Goldman, a longtime Lost editor, and his only episode in the chair. Elizabeth Sarnoff wrote it with Kyle Pennington.
Where things stand: the Oceanic Six have found a way back, and Locke’s journey off the Island has been told. On the Island, the people left behind have been skipping through time since the season began, and they need it to stop.
This is Sawyer’s first episode as the main focus since the third season. Three years pass, and he builds a new life in an unexpected time. The shoot did not go smoothly: a mudslide at a state park location cancelled Goldman’s last two days, and Stephen Williams or Jack Bender picked up the missing scenes later. Goldman told the official magazine what he learned about working with actors on this one. It is one of the gentler hours of the season.
