The Economist

Synopsis

Before you watch

The Economist aired on February 14, 2008. Jack Bender directed, and Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz wrote it. Horowitz later said it was the first script written for the fourth season, and the first Sayid episode the pair had written.

Where things stand: the freighter team has arrived, a physicist, an anthropologist, a ghostbuster and a mercenary, and the survivors are split into two camps over whether to trust them. Nobody is sure yet what the newcomers really came for, and Sayid is not someone who leaves a question like that alone.

Sayid makes a deal with Locke, and his future off the Island is revealed. It is Sayid’s first episode as the focus this season. Off-Island, the crew filmed on the Fazio Course at Turtle Bay Resort, one of two golf courses laid out along the coast near Kahuku Point on the North Shore. Watch Sayid closely here. The show trusts its audience to keep up.
