Stranger in a Strange Land
Synopsis
Before you watch
Stranger in a Strange Land aired on February 21, 2007. Paris Barclay directed his only Lost episode, and Elizabeth Sarnoff and Christina M. Kim wrote it. The title borrows from the Robert A. Heinlein novel.
Where things stand: Desmond’s experience in the Hatch has been revealed, and the show has started to suggest that time itself may be broken. Jack is still a prisoner of the Others, and Juliet’s past was explored a few weeks ago.
This is Jack’s episode: his tattoos are explained, and Juliet faces a tribunal. Off-Island, the crew shot on Waimānalo Beach under the Koʻolau cliffs and at a former restaurant on Nuʻuanu Avenue in Chinatown, and the art department transformed a whole block of downtown Honolulu in a single day with custom signs and hundreds of neon lights. Production designer Zack Grobler later walked the official magazine through the build.
