Synopsis
Before you watch
Not in Portland aired on February 7, 2007, after a three-month break, bringing the show back from its winter hiatus. Stephen Williams directed, and Carlton Cuse wrote it with Jeff Pinkner.
Where things stand: the autumn run ended with Kate and Sawyer at a turning point and Jack making a deal with the Others. Ben has been playing his games, and the survivors at camp are still without their leaders.
This is the first episode built around Juliet: her backstory is revealed while Kate and Sawyer try to escape. Off-Island, the crew filmed at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, the University of Hawaiʻi medical school on the Kakaʻako waterfront. Kitsis and Horowitz previewed this episode for the official magazine, and Elizabeth Mitchell talked about filming it. It is a good place to come back in after a break of your own.
