Synopsis

Live Together, Die Alone (Part 2) is the second hour of the finale night of May 24, 2006, and the end of the second season. Jack Bender directed, and Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof wrote it.
Where things stand: Desmond has come back by sailboat, and his backstory has shown how he came to the Island. The button in the Hatch has been the season’s central question since the orientation film explained it, and Michael has come back from the Others with plans of his own.
Going in, you know this is the season finale, the truth about the button is tested, and Michael makes a choice. That is all you should know going in. Season 3 did not begin until October 4, 2006, so the first audience had more than four months with this ending. When it is over, the season page has the whole of the second year, and the next episode is waiting whenever you are.
