Exodus (Part 1)

Synopsis

Before you watch

Exodus (Part 1) aired on May 18, 2005, the opening of a three-part season finale. Parts 2 and 3 aired together a week later as a two-hour finale. Jack Bender directed all three, and Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse wrote them.

Where things stand: the raft is nearly ready, someone has poisoned Michael, and Kate has made her move for a place on board. The Hatch is still sealed, and Rousseau has been out in the jungle since she was first found.

The shape of it is set out from the start: Rousseau arrives with a warning, the raft launches, and an expedition sets off for the Black Rock. For the first time the backstory is spread across nearly the whole cast, with eleven people at the centre instead of one or two. The Hawaiʻi Convention Center at the edge of Waikīkī returns as a filming spot. Watch all three parts close together if you can.
