Synopsis
Before you watch
The Candidate aired on May 4, 2010, after a two-week break, and starts the final four-week run to the end of the show. Jack Bender directed, and Elizabeth Sarnoff and Jim Galasso wrote it, Galasso’s second and last script.
Where things stand: alliances have been shifting fast, and the groups on the Island have come together for the endgame. The Man in Black keeps gathering people, and Widmore is on the Island with his own plans.
The setup is blunt: the group tries to escape on the submarine, and there are devastating losses. This is not an episode to watch half-distracted, and it is not one to start late at night if you have to be up early. Five people share the centre this time, all of them there since the first season.
