Recon
Synopsis
Before you watch
Recon aired on March 16, 2010. Jack Bender directed, and Elizabeth Sarnoff wrote it with Jim Galasso, in the first of his two scripts for the show.
Where things stand: Ben has faced judgment from Ilana, and his flash-sideways showed a different man. The Man in Black has made his move at the Temple, and he went after Sawyer early in the season. Everyone on the Island seems to be picking a side.
This is Sawyer’s episode: he plays both sides, while his flash-sideways shows him in a different line of work. The title is short for reconnaissance, which suits a man who has always kept his options open. Sawyer has been the show’s great survivor since the first week on the beach, and this season keeps asking who he is when there is nobody left to con. Watch who he talks to and what he leaves out.
