Everybody Hates Hugo
Synopsis
Before you watch
Everybody Hates Hugo aired on October 12, 2005. Alan Taylor, known for directing The Sopranos and later Thor: The Dark World, directed his only Lost episode. Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz wrote their second script for the show.
Where things stand: the DHARMA Initiative orientation film has turned up, and the purpose of the button has been explained. Out at sea, the raft survivors are still struggling to stay alive, and nobody on the beach knows what has happened to them.
This is Hurley’s second episode as the focus, after Numbers. He is put in charge of the food supply found in the Hatch, and the tail section survivors are introduced. That second line matters. Up to now the show has been about the people from the front of the plane. The title is a fair warning about how Hurley feels about being given a job that nobody else would want.
