I know you're thinking "GuysWhereAreWe is posting again, does this mean the zombie season is a go?!" No. Just saw some new and compelling Lost-related info. Damon Lindelof tweeted about "Lost Answers", a new blog by a real scientist named Cody, who believes in the greatness of Lost and has taken it upon himself to answer all your dumb questions. Was that harsh? Maybe I am just loyal to Lost and think you should all appreciate it for what is was: the greatest 6 seasons of television ever. Anyway if you're still hungry for explanations, check out his blog, Lost Answers for some LEGIT answers (that are semi endorsed by Damon Lindelof)! This is how I will be spending my free time, nerds.

I just read, what I found to be a pretty astute observation of the finale, here is an excerpt that I really found interesting and totally agree with:

One of the reasons I think "Lost" worked was that it was always more interested in the box and the person holding the box than what was in the box. A closed box is almost always a mystery, really, until you open it and see what's inside (which is how so many parents misdirect their kids on Christmas morning). All of the imitators of the show that have come along have focused far, far more on the contents of that box. They wanna shake it and hear if it rattles. They wanna pull back the wrapping paper and take a peek. "Lost" has always been satisfied to dump a package in your lap and think that's enough. Is it? Again, for me, absolutely. But if not for you, does the fact that you opened the box and didn't find what you wanted ruin the whole experience of the show, all of the fun you had along the way? It's not wrong to feel that way, not at all. But it probably does speak to the different kinds of people we are, and the different ways we react to art.

The end of the article is what bothered me, and I think its what turned off a lot of Christians to the last 10 minutes— because it's not what we believe. Despite the fact that Lost is a work of fiction, it's also a deeply layered metaphor for life itself, so the statement made in the last 10 minutes, that all roads lead to heaven, is a very real opinion of Lost's creators. Again, not what I believe, but a great door to conversation about what I do believe, and for that, I think Lost is great.

Many people are upset and feel scorned and lead-on by the ending. Perhaps Darlton was hurting us to help us "let go". Like in many epic romances where one lover must hurt (albeit falsely) the other lover in order to ultimately save them from some major pain and trouble, as a personal sacrifice… Well, it's a thought (and yes, a stretch), and here's Damon's last and only post-Lost tweet for what he promised would be a long time:

"Remember. Let go. Move on. I will miss it more than I can ever say."

So will we Damon, so will we.

I am excited to tell you that this episode was a great one and features 2 VERY notable guest stars from the past (both of whom caused yelps and screaming and laughter in the theater at Lost Live). Considering the weight of the title, this episode has a surprisingly light-hearted way about it. It also has (what I consider to be) a significant and satisfying answer to one of the many questions.

We will be attending Lost: The Final Celebration with Michael Giacchino (academy award winning composer, and creator of the Lost music) conducting an orchestra in the music of Lost with special guests Jorge Garcia, Michael Emerson and Nestor Carbonell, as well as a 10 min. preview of the penultimate episode, and other surprises. They've mentioned many times (by e-mail, and mail) that absolutely no cameras or CELL PHONES will be allowed… how lame?! I know! So, I wish I could say I'd have some photos to post tomorrow, but it looks like i won't, unless I can smuggle a phone in, and I don't really want to risk getting kicked out of this event.

That tonight's episode is going to be kind of a big deal. According to EW's own Lost guru, Doc Jensen:

I will spoil nothing except to say the following: 1. “The Candidate” has been touted as monumentally important to the saga of Lost — and the touting is 100 percent accurate. 2. The title of the episode has something in common with the title of the season’s Sayid-centric episode, “Sundown.” 3. I can’t think of a better way to prepare for the ep or at least reboot yourLost memory (just in case amnesia settled in during the week long break) than by watching this week’s episode of Totally Lost, in which Dan and I break down “The Last Recruit” from two weeks ago. You’ll find the videos at the end of my blather.

Alliances are forged and broken as the Locke and Jack camps merge.

It appears that the flash sideways will contain stories surrounding Jack and Sayid, as both David (Jack's son) and Nadia are listed among the guest stars. Other notable guests include the tailies-turned-others, Cindy, Zack and Emma.

I'm also wondering if the "last recruit" refers to candidates and if that means we'll find out whether Kwon refers to Sun or Jin, could there finally be a reunion?!

Lost Without Lost

So, I'm just relaxing on Sunday evening and I thought, why not watch some of the episodes of Lost that have been referenced since season 6?

I'm watching "Everyone Hates Hugo" right now, and I'm SO depressed! It's such a great episode, Hurley gets fed up with being the keeper of the Dharma food supply and ultimately decides to let everyone have a free-for-all and feast (for the first time in weeks) on the bonfire-lit beach. Charlie and Claire share peanut butter, Sun sorrowfully buries the bottle full of messages (that she believes to be a sign of Jin's fate on the raft) and it all ends with Michael and Sawyer entering the living quarters of the tailies to be approached by a man who asks if Rose is ok— yes the long-awaited Bernard is actually alive (just as Rose has insisted up to that point). Man I'm going to miss this show.

Last night Ian Somerhalder tweeted that he was currently acting in what are the last filmed scenes of Lost. Ever. How depressing is that?! Why are they doing this to us?! Seriously, a spin-off? A web series? Anything! Give us anything!

PS Julie Bowen looked so much better before she got all anorexic on Modern Family. For reals.

Now, I have no issues with the opening to "Lost." It's minimalist, intriguing, mysterious, to the point.

But what if Team Darlton had wanted a real opening credit sequence for "Lost"? And what if the person they hired had a love for 60s-era, Saul Bass, sequences?

I'm guessing it would've looked a little something like this...

The Odd Couple?

Not a theory, but an interesting tidbit that I've held on to for a while and finally got around to posting...

We like the Locke and we like the Ben Linus, but are we ready for more of them? Terry O'Quinn (That's Locke and FLocke) is pitching a proposed series with him and Michael Emerson (That's Ben) as a pair of hit men who live in the suburbs. The hook is that they have to balance their domestic and professional problems while keeping their real day jobs hidden from their families.

It's hardly the shenanigans they've engaged in on the Island, but both of them have been so good on Lost that I'd give them a shot.

Spoiler Alert: Dirk Has Figured Out what the "Sideways Flashes" Are

A word of warning, this probably still won't make much sense unless you have a brilliant mind that has a grasp on quantum mechanics. HAH! As Darlton has talked about before, 'schrodinger's cat' (this is not news to the world of Lost theories) has CLEARLY the best explanation for these "sideways flashes". It states that every event is a "branch point" so apparently we're seeing that the crash of 815 was a "branch point" and we're getting to see both branches that grew from that split (I think we're also discovering other branches that went differently along the way, ie. Jack choosing to marry (i assume Sarah) resulting in David, Sawyer choosing to be cop instead of a criminal, Locke choosing a life with Helen.) Perhaps they're tying these branches to choices, I'm wondering if we'll discover that 815 NOT crashing was part of Desmond's choice (or maybe even Jacob).

Recap: Recon

Sorry for my lack of updates. To be quite honest, I have concluded that I will not figure out the end game of Lost. The writing is brilliant and designed to surprise. With that said, here are some things that were awesome about tonight's episode!

1. I knew that Sawyer wasn't a con man in the flash sideways! Accurate predictions are few and far between, so I'm stoked.

2. I'm a little pumped because I think we got confirmation that Claire wasn't infected. Despite her crazy tirade, it was all real, and likely what a person in her circumstances would do. I think the hostiles (temple folk) believed her to be infected because for an unknown reason (Smokey told her they had Aaron) she was out to get them. Also, it seems that a truly infected individual (Sayid) does not act-out emotionally, and essentially does whatever Smokey wants. Claire however acted emotionally and that was not how Smokey wanted her to behave.

3. No but for reals, Sawyer, what are you doing? This "you and me freckles, we're gettin' off the island" balogna gotsa go! I understand if he is interested in the safety of his 815 compadres, but just Kate? Let's not go here again.

4. On the other hand, this seems to prove that Sawyer is not infected, or under the spell of Smokey, which is a relief!

5. Lost weirds me out sometimes. By chance, I had just looked up the actress who played Zoe, because 'Singles' was on tv, and I thought she was familiar. She hasn't been in like anything since 'Singles' in the early 90's, and now, here she is on Lost. Just coincidence.

6. Where the heck does old Widmore fit into this Smokey vs. Jacob business? I have no idea. I think for certain he's on the same level as Ben. I'm guessing that this will end in a face-off of sorts for these two. Perhaps now that the 'Jacob and Smokey can't kill each other rule' has been broken via loophole, then maybe Widmore and Ben can have a whack at each other.

7. The scenes from next week gave me crazy chills. It's pretty much guaranteed to answer some questions about Richard!!!!! EEEEEKKKK!!!!!
