Supposedly, the mystery about Charlie's appearance in that ABC promo is solved, and it's a lot less intriguing than we thought.
Michael Ausiello posted a item Friday night that said he talked with the people at ABC and the reason why Charlie is in the ABC promo is...
...he's joining the cast of another ABC show.
Ausiello says he's been sworn to secrecy on which show it is, but it's an hour-long drama and the network wants it be a huge surprise when it's revealed.
Which is all well and good, except . . . what on earth did they think was going to happen by putting him in a network promotional video at least two months before any of these new series are going to air? If they wanted it to be a secret, then they shouldn't have had him in the video, but that's just me.
My default theory, until I'm proven wrong, is that he's still coming back to Lost, and this is all just a smokescreen (get it?) to keep the fans going during the next six months.

Agreed. They can't pull that crap, it's just wrong. It is definitely regarded as the biggest mistake in Lost history, killing Charlie. They can't mess with us like that! There are exactly two scenarios that make his appearance ok… 1.) They're lying and he is back on Lost, 2.) He will be starring in a Lost spin off: "Drive Shaft: The Early Years"
