Revelation! *UPDATED*

It just occurred to me that it wasn't future Locke that told past Locke (via Richard) that he had to die! It was Jacob's enemy as Locke! So I'm def thinking (big fat duh) as soon as Christian's body landed on Lost island, Jacob's enemy took Christian's form and hid his body (just like he did with Locke). So quite obviously, this entire time, it has been Jacob's enemy parading around as ghosty Christian Shepard, until he found a new body…Locke's!

I just blew my own mind.

So now it's time to go back and watch the entire series, knowing that every time we see Christian (after real Christian's passing) he is really Jacob's enemy, bent on twisting events to lead to Jacob's demise!!!!!!

*UPDATED*

Furthermore, Jacob's enemy has clearly been playing Richard (or Richard is secretly working for him) because it was Richard who gave Locke the information on Sawyer, which lead to his father's death and Locke's ascent to leader. This chain of events lead to Locke's direct access to Jacob and ultimately Jacob's death.

Also, from Lostpedia:

Richard Alpert gave Locke a compass, instructing him to give it back to him the next time Locke saw him. ("Because You Left") When Locke time traveled to 1954, he gave the compass to Richard in order to prove he was from the future. ("Jughead") In 2007, the individual posing as Locke told Richard to give the compass to Locke, creating a time loop.

So is that why Smokey spared John's life back a few seasons ago? Cause it was all part of the plan?

Also, I'm reminded of the heiroglyphics of Smokey and the Statue looking like they were fighting each other. Was it Smokey that destroyed the statue in hopes of destroying Jacob? Me and Justin have affectionately referred to the man in black as "Esau" until we know his name.

P.S. Now I feel bad for Ben. The man who started off as seemingly the most powerful man on the island proved to be nothing more than a pawn. But the reason I feel bad is I really thought Smokey was playing the moral police with the visions of Alex. Now I'm thinking it was all a ploy to get Ben mentally right where Blocke (Bad Locke) wanted him.

Jen what episode is that hieroglyphics with smokey and the statue? Also referring to Ben just being a pawn, its amazing how the dynamics of LOST can change so quickly.

And haha I love it "Blocke" let's use that from now on.

Haha. We've been using "Esau" as well, although, I think he's Alvar Hanso, and I'm determined to find proof of it somewhere! The bit about Smokey destroying the statue totally sounds like it could be right!

Smokey must be controlled by Esau/Blocke/Alvar, as almost everything smokey seems to play into his plans. Also when Alvar was parading around as Christian Shepard and he appeared to Jack at the hospital waiting room, Jack was having to fix the smoke detector. FORESHADOW ALERT!!

I'm not sure if Richard was ever really "Esau" playing Richard or not. Especially because he told "Blocke" which IS Esau, that "I'm this way (meaning ageless) because of Jacob." So he'd essentially be talking to someone he once impersonated. Also, we've never been given any indication that Richard Alpert died. It seems as though the theory about "Esau" taking over impersonating someone calls for a dead body.

Allison, sorry, when I said "playing him" I meant like conning him, not taking over his body. I think there evidence that Richard could be unintentionally working for him, or basically just playing right into his hands without realizing it.

Ah yes, see what you mean. I also just realized that if Christian was being impersonated by "Esau" then he was responsible for beckoning Claire into the woods.
