My pal, Justin Riner, had the magnificent opportunity to attend an event last night featuring none other than Damon freaking Lindelof (the less hairy half of Darlton). Justin relayed this to me, regarding the previously mentioned issue of Libby (and other tales) never reaching a satisfying completion:
Last night, Damon said basically that in both cases- Eko and Libby- it came down to the actor's lack of interest in continuing and thusly, drove possible plots into the ground. He said he'd hate to hire another actress to play Libby and is trying to find ways to, verbally, tell her story without getting lame
To which I say, 'how lame can you be?'. What kind of idiot has no interest in continuing on Lost? Thanks for nothing Cynthia Watros and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, you guys suck. Thanks for real to Justin for sharing. Justin didn't get a photo with Damon because he didn't want to be too fan boy, otherwise, I would post that too. For the record I would go crazy fan girl for Damon or Carlton.

I knew that was the case for the Echo actor, but I didn't know the Libby actress felt that way. I guess in a long series like this that encompasses many characters, this kind of ungrateful-actor crap will happen. No one would know either of them weren't it not for LOST. I very much doubt they were underpaid for what they do and they got to live in Hawaii for a few years. Where's the downside!?
Big ego's attached to small time actors...geesh.
