This may be a stretch, but hey nobody is reading this blog anymore anyway, right? Hope this isn't too nerdy…
According to this article, some scientist have found "jets of searingly hot water spewing up from the ocean floor over in the far-northern zone of the Arctic Ocean". They are calling these "black smokers", and the first thing I thought of was the black smoke monster from LOST. They are calling these hydrothermal vents, "black smokers", because of the bilious clouds of material emitted from their chimneys.
The article goes on to say that the scientists are discovering: "new weird, resilient microbial life forms that live in these clusters, feeding off flecks of gold and other minerals from Earth's interior".
So then I had to read up a little more on Microbial Life and I came across "Microbial Intelligence" which is the intelligence shown by microorganisms. What, they have intelligence? I went on to read "it has been suggested that a bacterial colony loosely mimics a biological neural network. The bacteria can take inputs in form of chemical signals, process them and then produce output chemicals to signal other bacteria in the colony". Hmmmmmm…
… and yes I know there are other predictions on what smokey really is, but I thought this would make a good excuse to post something.

I still read the blog.
"Perdictions" is pretty funny. Are y'all gettin' ready for Randy Travis or somethin'?
Btw, Interesting post. Nice linking work.
Haha, thanks Keelin its fixed!
First of all, very funny that one of the labels is "smoke jonster." Secondly, very interesting post. Although I'm not convinced it has a lot to do with LOST it definitely gets the gears a movin'. How interesting that it was in the arctic...polar bear anyone?
Nice find. This sounds like hot Lost news… I bet no one else has this theory. Very original. It does sound a bit like nano-bots though, which Darlton has promised is not what the Smoke Monster is. Still it has a lot of nice tie-ins.
